Stoke-on-Trent Central MP Jo Gideon says the problem of drug misuses in the Potteries requires a 'multi-agency approach'.
She said: "This week, I discussed the issue of a rise in reports of anti-social behaviour in Hanley town centre which has been caused by drink and drugs misuse, with the Chief Constable of Staffordshire police. He and I agreed that we can only solve the problem of alcohol and drug misuse with a multi-agency approach, as such I will continue my discussions with the council, the police, public health specialists and service providers to see how we can best tackle this challenge.
"The Chief Constable and I also discussed the scourge of county lines drugs gangs which are operating in our city and the work the police are undertaking to tackle this evil behaviour which preys on the young and the vulnerable."
